The MAIN Path tab of the global support extension template is where you configure the main location for your program data.

The MAIN Data Path Setup

When you add ProPath to your application, it automatically defines a MAIN data path.

 

By default this is where all data and INI files will be mapped into.

 

 

If you need a separate data space for your SYSTEM data files (such as INI files, control files or read only files), just check the Use a separate path for System data and INI files box.  Then you will see a new tab appear at the top of the template as shown here:

Controlling the MAIN Data Location

ProPath controls the MAIN data location in one of three ways:

 

Note: as you change the controller method, the tabbed section below will change to show you the related information for that type of control.  This helps keep the interface as simple as possible.

 

 

Note: for simplicity, each one of these options below is discussed on a child page of this topic.

 

The Path is created from Template Selections below

The Path is loaded from the  Windows Registry

The Path is loaded from an External INI Control file
